Women empowerment is a powerful topic, especially in City Heights. My story is about the impact Muslim women leaders in City Heights make in this community, and the realities behind the struggles and criticism they may face.
Women leaders in City Heights inspire the young women in our community to believe anything is possible. It is important to recognize these women for all that they do. Among these Muslim women are Executive Directors, Founders and Youth Organizers who work hard, and fight even harder, to shape the path of equity and equality for those who will follow in their footsteps.

“Never give up. Make sure your voice is heard, no matter the trials that come with it because it is a struggle to just continue moving forward. Every little action you are doing, remember you are changing someone’s life.” – Faiza Warsame, Youth Organizer for United Women of East Africa (UWEST)

“Don’t limit yourself and your dreams. What you think is impossible might actually not be.” – Ramla Sahid, Executive Director of Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans (PANA)
