In partnership with the San Diego International Airport, The AjA Project has created Flight+PATHS, a participatory exhibit which captures and elevates image and narrative from San Diego’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities. Flight+PATHS brings this content to a wider audience; fostering thought and dialogue around issues of immigration, culture and community. Through a series of community-based workshops, AjA worked with participants of immigrant and refugee backgrounds, and the organizations who serve them, to create portraits and share personal stories. It is our intention to showcase the hope, strength and resiliency of San Diego’s immigrant and refugee communities.

The accompanying glass cases showcase non-profit leaders of immigrant or refugee backgrounds, who are working hand-in-hand with communities to drive positive and social change in San Diego.
